It was a great time having Professor Etezady on the podcast, where we talked about a long stream of topics and ideas throughout the runtime. It was a fun and relaxed conversation, and since we were not featuring a piece of Professor Etezady’s we had the opportunity to expand on a good number of topics. So many topics, in fact, to both of us it almost felt like rambling! One of my biggest takeaways from our conversation was Professor Etezady’s reflections on her time being a professor and how students have changed/grown in that time. It will be interesting to, in a handful of years, look back on this conversation and see how my own experience as a teacher has changed/evolved over time. One of the biggest points brought out by Professor Etezady was the idea that teachers really do learn from and with students, growing in ways that might not be immediately known or understood. Although I have only been teaching for a relatively small amount of time, this completely resonates with me, and I am sure this is a near-universal feeling with educators.

Thank you again to Professor Roshanne Etezady for coming onto the podcast.

I am excited to preview that the next episode of the TCC Podcast is going to feature the composer Dr. Carolina Heredia and her piece Resonancia Natural. My conversation with Dr. Heredia spanned a wide array of topics, with, of course, Resonancia Natural taking a large portion of the conversation. We had a lovely time engaging on the topic of humanity’s connection with nature and how that can be expressed into a sonic medium. While not included in the episode, because this is an audio-only podcast, we also discuss the coordination of the visual aide that went along with the piece, tying in with the themes of nature and harmonic balance. Further than that, we also talk about Dr. Heredia compositional style, how she got into composition, multidisciplinary composition and much more! I would love to share more about the episode but it will have to wait until this coming Monday!

Again, don’t forget to listen to the most previous episode if you missed it, featuring Professor Roshanne Etezady. Make sure to follow our social media links below and the podcast streaming platform of your choice to keep up-to-date on new episodes and blog posts from the TCC. Additionally, set your calendar and or streaming subscriptions to this coming Monday, August 4th, for the episode featuring Dr. Carolina Heredia and Resonancia Natural. You won’t want to miss it, and we’ll see you there!
